May 1
When I arrived at the hospital this morning, Judy was quite drowsy. She had thrown up during the night everytime she was vertical; therefore, she was given anti nausea drugs introvenously. I have just returned from an afternoon visit and Judy looks much better. She was sitting in a chair after a decadent meal of mashed potatoes...two tbsp worth.
Judy is still not ready for visitors, other than family. The girls and I try to keep the visits short. Apparently, she is not experiencing extreme pain, just discomfort from the drain inserted through her incision. The epidural has been removed. She no longer has oxygen tubes in her nose. Judy still has an IV for anti nausea. Pain meds are being taken orally. Oh yeah, she no longer has a catheter. The bladder issues of yesterday have been remedied.
As the girls and I were leaving, the nurse was taking Judy for a stroll.
I have no idea when she will be released. I am going to say: no earlier than Monday. Beyond Monday, I have no idea when she will be well enough for travel. David is leaving tomorrow and the girls are leaving early Sunday. Having company for the last few days has been wonderful. I have also enjoyed messages of support coming from Judy's friends and family.
I have been staying at the Jean C. Barber Lodge near the hospital. 55$/night includes three meals a day and snacks. I usually eat breakfast at the lodge, then have one meal a day at one of the variety of restaurants on Broadway Ave.

So sorry to hear about Judy's mom. I spoke with my mother-in-law Bernice and she is so sad about the decline in Eva's health. It must be incredibly difficult for Judy to be away from her mom right now. Remember I am out here praying & cheering you all on. The trees along the riverbank have started to show a little green. Nature is preparing for your homecoming.
